Pray For The Living and The Departed
In the Orthodox church we have a custom to offer our prayers for the living and the departed brothers and sisters. During the preparatory prayers, just before the Divine Liturgy while the Sixth Hour is being recited, the priest cuts of pieces of bread and places them on the diskos (pictured to the right) below to the piece of bread called Lamb which is latter consecrated and becomes the Body Of Christ and of each the faithful partake during the time of Holy Communion.
Faithful attending the Divine Liturgy write the name of the people the want to be commemorated and give an offering along with the names. If for some reason you can not attend the Divine Liturgy or live far away from our church, you can submit your offering through our website. After your donation is process through PayPal, you will be redirected to the page on our website where you can submit the names of the leaving or the departed you would like to be remembered during the Divine Liturgy.
Please remember to wait after you make your donation to be redirected to the page where you can submit the names.
